In 2008 our marching band was the largest band in
the state.

At over 200 members, band is the largest student activity
at BSHS.
• In 2008 the Marching band ranked in the top 50 bands
in America at the Bands of America National Championships
• Approximately 85% of marching band members are honor
roll students.
•
The BSHS extra-curricular band program is 87% privately
funded.

car wash locations will be at:
Flutes - Advance Auto on Hwy 9
Clarinets - Advance Auto on Asheville Hwy
Baratones - Advance Auto at Sam's
Color Guard - Grapevine at Hwy 9
Saxaphones & Low Reeds - Ragan's Short Stop -
Hwy 9 and 292
Trumpets - Bojangles (Hwy 9 @ Walmart)
Mellows & Tubas - Carsile
Crossing located at Parris Bridge and Old Furnace

Each section will have a designated location and we
will be posting this shortly. Section leaders need
to be thinking about what they will do to attract
attention (signs, large band instruments, clown outfits,
etc) for their location as there will be a reward
for the section that takes in the most money. Every
band student has been given 5 tickets to pre-sell,
as has every parent who picked up one of the parent
folders at the mini-band camp performance - if you
need more tickets please pick them up at Image Printing,
845 California Ave or call 583-8848 or 431-5732. The
car wash is actually one of our most profitable and
FUN fundraisers, so please help the band by selling
the tickets and PARTICIPATING in the wash. We will
need one or more adult volunteers to stay at each
location, so if you can do this please let us know
by calling the above phone numbers or emailing to:
